Prof. Sharon L. Poczter
Prof. Sharon L. Poczter is the faculty advisor for Cornell Current and a regular columnist to Forbes.com. She is an expert in financial economics, industrial competitiveness and strategy and emerging markets. Additionally, she is an assistant professor of Managerial Economics at Cornell University’s Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.

Deborah_StreeterProf. Deborah Streeter
Prof. Deborah Streeter is the Bruce F. Failing, Sr. Professor of Personal Enterprise and Small Business Management in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.  Dr. Streeter also oversees the Dyson Business Minor for Engineering and the University-wide Business Minor.

Entrepreneurship and small business management are the focus of Dr. Streeter’s teaching, research, and outreach activities. Dr. Streeter received the MERLOT Award for Exemplary Online Learning Resources in 2010, the Olympus Innovative Educator Award in 2007, and  was named a Stephen H. Weiss Presidential Fellow in 2000, the highest teaching honor at Cornell University.

Dr. Streeter holds an  M.S. (1980) and Ph.D. (1984) in Agricultural Economics from the University of Wisconsin Madison.  She is a member of a university-wide  Entrepreneurship@Cornell program and leads the Entrepreneurship@Dyson program.

A major project of Dr. Streeter’s has been the development of Cornell’s eClips, the world’s largest curated collection of digital video clips on Entrepreneurship, Business and Leadership.  In 2004, Dr. Streeter went through the technology commercialization process and founded Prendismo, a company focused on digital media and knowledge management.

Michael Troy
Michael Troy serves on Cornell University’s Board of Trustees. He is the former chief operating officer for Goldman Sach’s Securities Division Sales from 2006 through 2010. Michael was also head of Credit Sales from 2001 to 2006, head of High Yield and Distressed Debt Sales from 1997 to 2001 and head of Money Market Sales from 1994 to 1997. Michael joined Goldman Sachs in 1984 and was named managing director in 1997 and partner in 2002. He is a member of the The Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management’s Undergraduate Program Advisory Council. He currently teaches AEM 4000: Practitioner’s Overview of Securities Markets and Investment Banking.

Prof. Steven Kyle works in the areas of macroeconomic policy, both in the U.S. and in low-income countries. Recent work has included studies of the economies of Portuguese-speaking African countries, the outlook for the U.S. economy, and issues in the management of transition economies in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. He currently teaches Open Economy Analysis, a graduate course in methods for analyzing the macroeconomies of low-income countries. He is Director of Graduate Studies for the College of Agriculture and Life Science’s MPS program in International Agriculture and Rural Development (IARD) and also International (ID). Professional experiences include time as a consultant to the World Bank, UN Food and Agriculture Organization, as well as multiple foreign government agencies.

Kwesi Acquay ’14: Co-Founder, President Emeritus, and Alumni Board Chair 
Kwesi Acquay is a graduate of the Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management. He is the Co-Founder of Cornell Current and served as President. He currently serves as the Alumni Board Chair. As an undergraduate, Kwesi was involved in Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity, Cornell University Sustainable Design (Cornell NYC Tech campus initiative), Class of 2014 Convocation Committee, Scholars Working Ambitiously to Graduate (SWAG), and Senior Class Campaign. He was a Teaching Assistant for Finance (AEM 3240), Marketing Plan Development (AEM 2410), and Behavioral Economics (AEM 4140). Kwesi was honored by the CALS Alumni Association with the Richard A. Church ’64 Senior Service Award (the college’s top leadership award), in recognition of leadership and service to CALS and Cornell University. Kwesi began his career with J.P. Morgan in the Technology, Media, and Telecom (TMT) investment banking group. 

Rich Horgan ’14: Co-Founder and Co-President Emeritus
Rich Horgan majored in Applied Economics and Management and is from Montour Falls, New York. He is a co-founder of Cornell Current and served as co-president. On campus, he was also the Vice President of Finance for the Class of 2014, Vice President of Distribution for the Cornell Business Review, a Resident Advisor in a freshman dormitory and Head Teaching Assistant in the Dyson School. Outside of Cornell, Rich works as a strategist for his family’s business. As a student he interned with Corning Incorporated in the Advanced Optics Division. Rich began his career in corporate finance at Corning Incorporated before heading to Harvard Business School, receiving his acceptance into its 2+2 program.

Vinay Ramprasad ’14: Co-Founder and Treasurer Emeritus 

Vinay Ramprasad majored in Applied Economics and Management and is from Lansdale, Pennsylvania. He is a co-founder of the organization and served as its Treasurer. On campus, he was also involved in Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity (as Vice President of Administration), the Cornell Business Review, the Mutual Investment Club of Cornell, while also serving as a Resident Advisor for freshmen and a Teaching Assistant in the Dyson School. Vinay began his career in investment banking at Evercore Partners.

Cornell Current Alumni Board     

The mission of Cornell Current’s Alumni Board is to support, provide outreach to, and further the success of Cornell Current, for its members and its faculty, alumni, and professional stakeholders. The Alumni Board provides opportunities to extend members’ Cornell Current network, beyond the undergraduate experience. It seeks to enrich the experience of Cornell Current alumni, while providing strong assistance and sponsorship to undergraduate members.
